Acapulco is a major sea port located 300 kilometres southwest from Mexico City on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Acapulco originates from the Nahuatl language which means “place of big reeds.” Settled on a horseshoe-shaped bay surrounded with hills and cliffs, Acapulco is the division of the state of Guerrero. It functions as a port of call for ships and cruise liners plying between Panama and San Francisco, California, United States.
